Post-it note with text "Time to update" on laptop screen

Update your REACH registrations

We will soon kick off two campaigns to raise awareness of, and promote compliance with, industry's obligations to keep their REACH registrations up to date.

Our first campaign will target joint submissions where the lead registrant has changed but the new lead registrant has not yet submitted the complete set of information on behalf of the joint submission.

In our second campaign, we will focus on registrations that do not comply with the EU-wide harmonised classification under the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation.

We will contact the concerned registrants directly and request them to update their registrations within a set timeline.

We step up our conflict of interest prevention policy

Our Management Board has adopted an updated policy for preventing potential conflicts of interest.

The revised rules provide guidelines for the procurement of scientific services and clarify the independence requirements in ECHA’s committees and expert groups.

Our committees meet in February-March 2026

Are you interested in knowing what our scientific committees will discuss in their upcoming meetings? Have a look at their draft agendas:

  • Member State Committee: 10-11 February
  • Biocidal Products Committee: 23-25 February
  • Committee for Risk Assessment: 2-6 March (+ 10 March tentative)
  • Committee for Socio-Economic Analysis: 10-13 March

Court judgment

General Court dismisses an action against the harmonised classification of DAPD/BENPAT as repro 1B

In case T-174/24 the Court dismissed an action for annulment of the harmonised classification for the substance known as DAPD or BENPAT in hazard class reproductive toxicity category 1B.

The Court rejected arguments related to alleged breaches of the classification criteria, manifest errors of assessment and violation of general principles of EU law.
