31 Ways to Fall in Love with Madrid

Madrid has launched "Te faltan calles," a campaign that reimagines its 31 neighborhoods as unique tourist destinations, encouraging visitors to look beyond the traditional city center. The project showcases the diversity, culture, food, and local life in lesser-known areas, inviting people to explore all year round. The first neighborhoods featured are Carabanchel, known for its art spaces and tapas; El Capricho, which has a hidden Civil War bunker; and Casa de Campo, the city's large green escape. Nineteen more neighborhoods, such as Chueca, Madrid Río, and Lavapiés, join the map, offering routes that highlight nightlife, river walks, street art, and international cuisine. By 2026, visitors will be able to discover 31 different sides of Madrid, each with its own atmosphere, stories, and ways to experience the city.
