ADS Doctoral Day

Join us for the next edition of the ADS Doctoral Day at Hof van Liere (Stadscampus) on 16 or 17 October. This event is designed especially for starting doctoral researchers, but PhD researchers further in their trajectory are equally welcome. To allow as many participants as possible to take part in the live sessions, you can register for one of the two days (programme is the same). Can't make it in person? No worries - you can still join us online on 16 October.
Registrations are open via this e-form until 8 October 6 p.m.

ADS courses: opening registrations

Registrations for ADS courses (1st semester) will open in SisA on Tuesday
9 September 2025 at 9 a.m.

Please note that the registration procedure in SisA has been slightly updated. You can find the step-by-step instructions on our website.

The full course descriptions and schedule for this autumn are also available online. Remember: registration is only possible if you are (re-)enrolled for the 2025-2026 academic year and after you have confirmed your privacy settings in SisA (see the 'To Do' tile)!

Deadline Educational Credit 2024-2025

The academic year is heading towards its end, so it is time to gather your receipts for your educational credit. The final day you can submit a request for reimbursement of activities in academic year 2024-2025 will be on Friday 31 October 2025. After the deadline closes, new submissions won’t be processed anymore. Make sure that you use the correct application form and collect the necessary documents and proofs in time. The more you deliver a complete file, the faster it will be reimbursed.

LinkedIn workshop and competition #ScienceStories

The five Flemish universities are jointly organising the #ScienceStories competition, inviting PhD researchers to share their research in an accessible and engaging way through a LinkedIn post. Participants may submit one post between 7 October and 7 November, using the hashtag #ScienceStories. Register here. Feeling unsure about how to get started on LinkedIn? Don't worry! On 7 October, 10 a.m. -12 p.m., you will be guided in an online workshop through the process of composing an effective LinkedIn post. Register before 2 October if you would like to participate in the workshop.

Job Shadowing - Last Call!

Prepare your next career step by shadowing a professional position.

You can still apply for a job shadowing position until 5 September 2025 (11 p.m.).
The actual job shadowing will take place between 6 and 17 October 2025.

Interested to explore a career field and experience a typical day (or more) on the job? Want to check if you fit in a particular position or organisation? Job Shadowing provides a better (and nuanced) understanding of the skills and competencies needed to succeed and thrive in a particular job.

CONNECT by YERUN

Are you looking for a host institution for a research stay or mobility grant? Are you in need of a jury member?

In this webinar we invite you to discover CONNECT by YERUN, a platform developed by the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) for researchers and research managers of the 24 universities that are part of the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN).

Webinar: Introduction to Inter- & Transdisciplinary research

This webinar introduces the main principles of inter- (IDR) and transdisciplinary research (TDR), and why these approaches should be considered in academic research. It covers key opportunities and challenges in crossing disciplinary boundaries, and discusses how researchers can navigate and leverage these complexities.

The webinar is organised by RIVA and IMDO, with support of the EU-funded Twin2Sustain research project.

Brain Malformation symposium

On 17 October 2025, UAntwerp will host an interuniversity symposium on congenital brain malformations and neurodevelopmental disorders. The event is aimed at young researchers and will feature presentations by PhD researchers, short talks by junior scientists, and keynote lectures by renowned senior researchers.

The symposium is free of charge but registration is mandatory.

Neuroscience in the Open Era

Open Science is reshaping brain research by opening access to data, tools, and knowledge. It fosters global collaboration, making neuroscience more transparent, innovative, and impactful.

The µNEURO event Neuroscience in the Open Era: Sharing Data, Accelerating Discovery brings researchers together to share experiences and gain inspiration.

The event will take place on Friday 10 October 2025, at Campus Drie Eiken of the University of Antwerp and is free to attend for registered participants.
