Postdoc Day 2026

On 9 June 2026, the next edition of the UAntwerp Postdoc Day will take place at Hof van Liere. The Postdoc Day is also open to PhD researchers in the final year of their PhD trajectory.

For the first time, it will be organised as a full-day event that offers postdocs and final-year PhD researchers opportunities to learn, develop skills, explore career paths, and connect with peers.

PhD done? Enter the Flemish PhD Cup!

Did you obtain your PhD in the past two years? The Flemish PhD Cup challenges you to present your research in a clear and engaging way to a broad audience—not as an academic lecture, but as an accessible story. After an intensive four-day media training, you will present the core of your research in just three minutes. 

The competition is open only to Dutch-speaking researchers. Registration is open until 30 June 2026.

Open call: Junior Affiliated Researchers

Are you a driven PhD researcher or early-career researcher working on themes such as democracy, citizenship, urbanism, diversity, or other social issues? Then this fellowship is for you.

As a Junior Affiliated Researcher at the Hannah Arendt Institute, you’ll remain affiliated with your own university, while joining our interdisciplinary network that bridges research and practice. You will have the opportunity to delve deeper into your research, meet other researchers and professionals, and take the initiative in commercialising your research.

Government survey into transgressive behaviour

The Flemish government is collecting data on experiences of unwanted, inappropriate behaviour in higher education, and how it is currently being addressed. The anonymous survey is conducted by an independent research firm, Indiville, and is separate from the internal well-being survey organised by UAntwerp in the autumn.

At UAntwerp, there is no place for transgressive behaviour. We set boundaries, let each other know about them, and offer support to one another. See how you can report and receive support.
