ADS Doctoral Day

We are pleased to announce that registrations for the ADS Doctoral Day are now open! This event offers tailor-made info sessions for both starting PhD researchers and doctoral researchers further along their trajectory.

We would love to welcome you on 19 March at Hof van Liere (Stadscampus), however, there's also the possibility of following most of the programme online.

Job Market for Young Researchers

Become part of the peer review commission

The evaluation of the annual progress reports of the doctoral study programme (DSP) will take place again in May and June 2026. A peer review commission composed of members of your faculty or department will assess the reported activities.
You may receive an invitation from your faculty or department to participate. ADS kindly asks you to consider taking part, as it allows you to gain broader insight into the DSP and moreover: sufficiently broad participation is essential to ensure a balanced, high-quality, and fair evaluation of the reports, which ultimately benefits all doctoral researchers.

New version of the Guidelines for Authorship

Recognising contributions plays a key role in responsible authorship. That is why the Executive Board has approved an update of the institutional Guidelines on Authorship in Research available in Dutch and English, with clearer guidance on a.o. substantial contributions, the use of AI and choosing the right outlet for your publication. To support clear agreements from the start, we now also offer a practical Authorship Agreement Form template.

Research Data Management essentials in Life Sciences

On 13 March UAntwerp and VIB are jointly offering an interactive one-day training on Research Data Management (RDM) in Life Sciences. This course introduces essential concepts, including FAIR and open data, structured data documentation, essentials of GDPR, and selecting trusted repositories. Discover how effective RDM practices strengthen transparency, reproducibility, and ultimately the impact of your publications.

The training is free and open to researchers at all career stages, but registration is required.

Postgraduate of Energy & Climate

The Postgraduate of Energy & Climate is an interdisciplinary programme addressing climate change, societal challenges, energy systems, and sustainable transitions, linking scientific insights with policy and practice.

Hackathon

EP PerMed, the European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, is organising its first Hackathon from 3 to 4 March 2026 in Ostend.

The event invites participants with a passion for research and innovation to develop impactful solutions for patients under the guidance of experienced experts. Through expert mentoring, interactive brainstorming, and tailored feedback, ideas are turned into concrete strategic plans. Participants will work in a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment that encourages collaboration across fields.

The hackathon also offers a unique opportunity to strengthen skills and contribute to the future of personalised medicine in Europe.
