ADS Doctoral Day: final call

This is a final call to register for the ADS Doctoral Day, on Thursday 16 or Friday 17 October, if you haven't done so yet. This event is designed to support early-stage PhD researchers as they embark on their doctoral journey, while also offering tailored sessions for those further along in their trajectory.

Participants may attend in person on one of both days or join online on Thursday 16 October. The full programme and practical details are available on the ADS website.

Please note that registrations will close on 8 October at 6 p.m.

New application form educational credit

A new version of the educational credit application form is available on the ADS website.

The new form requires a motivation of the learning component of the activity and how this activity relates to your doctoral study programme and its competence profile.

The deadline submitting a reimbursement request of activities in academic year 2024-2025 will be on Friday 31 October 2025.

StatUa Day - 21 October 2025

StatUa is pleased to announce its annual StatUa Day on Tuesday 21 October from 4 to 6 p.m. at Stadscampus UAntwerp. You can also follow the presentations online. This event highlights research collaboration and features presentations by StatUa members and invited speakers.

Topics include health economic cost-effectiveness analysis, soil CO₂ emissions, and psychosocial research. The scientific programme will be followed by a reception.

All researchers with an interest in collaborative methodology are warmly invited to attend. Register here.

Give your language skills a boost!

Dutch? Spanish? Arabic? ... the choice is yours! Last chance to sign up for a Linguapolis language course starting in October! For PhD researchers, language courses are refundable through the educational credit. Check the different options offered by Linguapolis.

Prefer learning a language online at your own pace? On the Altissia platform you have 23 languages to choose from! Use this form if you would like to subscribe for an Altissia licence.

Research integrity in perspective

Join KVAB on 7 October for an afternoon exploring the challenges and future of research integrity. The programme includes a keynote lecture, the presentation of a new KVAB position paper, a panel discussion and policy recommendations to embed a culture of research integrity more firmly in science.

The event will be conducted in Dutch.

Reminders!

The deadline for re-enrolment as a PhD student is 4 October 2025.

The deadline for reimbursement requests from your educational credit for activities between 23 September 2024 and 21 September 2025 is 31 October 2025.

Responsible research practices

Join us for the YUFE2030 training on responsible research practices.

The event will combine theoretical insights with practical tools, supporting researchers in developing responsible, ethical, and open research practices, and will feature four sessions:
open science in practice, responsible research & scientific integrity, legal & ethical frameworks in research and engaging citizens in research.

Persuading other people

Do you want to strengthen your ability to convince employers, supervisors, or colleagues? This two-hour online lecture by Jean-Luc Doumont offers a rational approach to persuasion, focusing on how to use power, apply tactics on four levels, and leverage social influence.
