Based on connection surveys and estimates, electricity production and consumption will grow significantly by the end of the decade in Finland. Vicinity to electricity networks is a competitive advantage when looking for locations for production and industrial investments. It is worth contacting the grid company early on, as building networks takes time. Municipalities are responsible for town planning and the necessary permits – crucial factors in the energy transition. 
Together we can enable clean energy-based investments.

The development of Finland’s main electricity grid continued vigorously in 2024. The need for electricity transmission and grid connection continued to grow rapidly, and Fingrid’s grid investments increased to a record level. Overall, 2024 was an excellent year in terms of both internal and external metrics.
