SUSTAINABILITY IN BIOCIDAL FORMULAS

Protecting polymer dispersions from microbiological attack is an ever-present issue. In light of the latest restrictions on usable substances, it has become increasingly important and challenging to develop biocidal formulas capable of ensuring product shelf life, always seeking the best balance between costs and benefits.Vinavil R&D team has worked extensively on this topic, optimizing existing formulas, enhancing them in certain sensitive products, and, at the same time, reducing the biocide content in many products where this has been proven to be possible, with a view to both cost savings and sustainability. Meanwhile, the search for alternatives to meet the needs of certain particularly sensitive markets continues, for example by testing innovative biobased biocides or the latest potential solutions for the biocide-free, with the aim of offering increasingly safe and sustainable products.

WOOD DAY 2025 RESULTS

Last week, we hosted Wood Day 2025, a full-day event dedicated to the world of wood and its sustainable applications.

The event brought together industry experts, partners, and professionals to discuss market trends, innovations, and the role of wood in a sustainable future. Participants explored topics such as coatings and adhesives, wood performance, circular economy, and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment).
Our esteemed speakers included Giacomo Goli (University of Florence), Marco Luchetti (Federazione Filiera Legno / Conlegno), Paolo Lavisci (Vinavil), Laurence Podgorski (FCBA), and Benedetto Pizzo (IBE-CNR). Their presentations provided insights into forest management, wood-adhesive interactions, and emerging technologies in the sector.
Feedback was extremely positive: 100% of participants said they would attend again, and most rated the sessions, speakers, and organization as Very Good to Excellent. Participants also highlighted the value of networking and exchanging ideas with peers and suppliers.

We are proud to further strengthen our successful collaboration with Stockmeier Química! Over the past five years, our partnership has empowered both companies to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to the chemical industry - especially within the paints and adhesives markets.Stockmeier Quimica has recently expanded its footprint in Spain through the acquisition of Intercoat, a specialty chemical distributor based in Molins de Rei, Barcelona.By combining Stockmeier’s robust network and technical expertise of Olga Pratginestos and Laure Simon with Vinavil’s solutions, we are well-positioned to bring even more value to our customers.
Another important milestone is the new warehouse and office building that Stockmeier is making in Paterna (Valencia) and will be fully operative in Q1 2026.

CHRISTMAS AT VINAVIL MILAN

For the first time, VINAVIL’s Milan staff celebrated Christmas in our own offices. For the occasion, an internal team was created to coordinate and organize the event. Dinner was served by an external catering service in the meeting room. The long table, set for almost 30 people in a “family-style space,” created a wonderful Christmas atmosphere - warm and full of fun. The evening was enriched by many moments of entertainment, such as SECRET SANTA, the reading of personal messages, music, and a BINGO game, with prizes awarded to the winners
It is in this spirit of joy and conviviality that we extend our warmest wishes to all our customers and partners for a Merry Christmas and a peaceful and serene 2026.
