February 2026

Dear Circular Economy Community,

Welcome back! In the special edition which came out earlier this month, we told you about the ECESP Annual Conference and the Coordination Group Work Programme for 2026-2028.

We can now add that the theme of the conference will be A competitive and fair circular Europe: The ambition at the heart of the single market. So mark your calendars for 22-23 April: it will be two days of keynotes, plenaries and sessions ranging from policy to implementation. As more information becomes available, we'll add it to our webpage, so keep an eye on it. We look forward to seeing you there!

The other main development was of course that the five ECESP leadership groups have now been set up and you can express an interest in joining one or more of them. The new groups are more horizontal than sector-specific, with ambitious objectives. Want to get involved? Then fill in the EUSurvey questionnaire!

The bulk of this newsletter will be given to the events, surveys, good practices, courses and more items added recently to our website. EU-funded projects working on circular innovations, advisory programmes for cities planning to go circular, plant-based cups replacing plastic and paper ones, a programme which lets EU-based companies in Brazil sponsor the collection of e-waste, printable self-charging power systems, policy recommendations on using the circular economy as an opportunity to factor social justice into the textiles and apparel industry – the circular economy really is wide ranging.

Read about it here, and tell us about your own activities and initiatives. Just fill in the relevant form or send us an email, and then the circular economy community can read about them too!

Policy recommendations for an inclusive and just circular economy transition in the textile and apparel value chain. Policy brief: Netherlands

The transition to a circular economy in the textile and apparel value chain is an opportunity to address the environmental challenges facing the industry.
