Keyword of the month

Domestic Disputes

While ICC arbitration remains predominantly international—with 69% of cases involving parties from different countries—it also continues to serve as a trusted forum beyond purely cross-border matters.

This strong international majority underscores ICC’s role as a leading institution for complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes. At the same time, it highlights the growing confidence of parties in using ICC arbitration standards even in cases with fewer international elements, reinforcing its global credibility and procedural consistency.

Tip of the month

Use Expedited Procedures

Expedited procedures can be a powerful tool for resolving disputes more efficiently. Designed to simplify proceedings, they offer shorter timelines, reduced costs, and streamlined processes—without compromising the quality of outcomes.

With a significant share of disputes falling below the expedited procedure provisions (EPP) threshold—including 41% under $4 million—many parties are well positioned to take advantage of these mechanisms. By considering expedited procedures early in the process, parties can benefit from faster resolution while maintaining procedural fairness.
