Welcome to King’s!

We hope you’re excited to join us and become a part of our vibrant student community. The journey of belonging at King’s comes from societies, activities and events, both online and offline, but most importantly from the people.

The perfect opportunity to experience it all is at Welcome to King’s, our programme of activities taking place in September designed to help you settle into your new journey. Make sure to check your inbox for updates on making the most of your time with us.

Celebrate the start of your journey with Welcome to King’s, from Monday 14 – Friday 25 September 2026.

Packed with things to see and do, there’s going to be a variety of online and on-campus opportunities to connect with other students, take part in events and activities, explore King’s services and more!

The Welcome to King’s – September 2026 guide on the Welcome to King’s app is the best way to get started and plan for Welcome. Download the app on your phone (iOS/Android) and use the passphrase reggielion26 to open the guide and find out more about Welcome events and activities, including those from your faculty. If you don’t have a smartphone, you can also access the guide via your web browser.

You can book online events from Thursday 3 September and on-campus activities from Monday 14 September.

Get involved with Welcome events

During Welcome to King’s, you can enjoy a wide range of free events designed to help you settle into King’s, meet new friends and explore London.

Whether you’re picking up a new outfit at the vintage clothing fair, joining one of our online service events, or relaxing in one of our Chat & Chill Zones, there’s something for everyone at Welcome! Check out the full range of events on the Welcome to King’s app.

If you’re an international student, there are dedicated events to help you settle into life in London. Check out the online event on Wednesday 9 September and in-person events on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September.

Discover your Students’ Union

Make sure you also book your free ticket for the King’s College London Students’ Union (KCLSU) Welcome Fair at Old Billingsgate, near Guy’s Campus, on Monday 21 September.

It’s a great chance to find out more about our incredible students’ union and how you can get involved with it. From societies, clubs and student groups, to academic support and events, KCLSU is all about you.

Important to know: you’ll need to book your ticket directly on the KCLSU website.

Your enrolment and student ID card

You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to complete the online enrolment task no earlier than 30 days before your course start date. This will be sent to the email address you supplied when making your application to study at King’s.

You’ll also receive a dedicated email outlining the process for collecting your student ID card before Welcome to King’s starts.

Important to know: you’ll need to bring proof of identity to collect your student ID card. This needs to be the original document, as scans or photographs of your ID will not be accepted. Remember to download the Welcome to King’s app and use the passphrase reggielion26 to find out more about your faculty, upcoming Welcome events and activities, and much more. If you don’t have a smartphone, you can also access the guide via your web browser. 

Think you’ve missed an email from us? We’re compiling all the Welcome emails we send to you on Student Services Online, your central source of information about student life at King’s.

If these emails are being sent to your personal email address, we will use this address to send you information about joining King’s until 15 October 2026. After this date, we will stop using your personal email address and contact you via your @kcl.ac.uk email address.

If you are a new student and required to undergo further eligibility checks for your programme, such as DBS and/or Occupational Health clearance, ATAS or obtaining a Student Visa, please ensure you complete these processes as soon as possible before the start date. If you have requested to change programme on King’s Apply, King’s Admissions will get back to you as soon as possible.
