Looking after your body

Try something new every week with BeActive!

BeActive is a social and recreational activity programme for all King's students, offering over 30 weekly sessions like volleyball, swimming, and yoga.

There's no commitment – join as often as you like! All activities are non-competitive and inclusive, open to everyone regardless of experience.

Check out the BeActive timetable online.

Exploring London on foot

King's location at the heart of London makes it an ideal starting point to explore the capital. One of the best things about London is how walkable the city is.

Exploring on foot is a great way to get to know your area but walking can also be good for your mental and physical health.

Check out our recommendations for walks to try this autumn.

Looking after your health at university

Here's a checklist to help you get started with looking after your health:

  • Register with a GP – You can register with the King’s NHS Health Centre or find a GP close to where you live

  • Get your eyes tested at the opticians if you need to

  • Find a dentist and register

  • Make use of the King's Health Advisor for Mandarin-Speaking Students if you need support

  • Visit the pharmacy for help with common illnesses

  • Look after your sexual health by being informed about contraception and get regular STI tests

  • Know who you can talk to and where to get support for your mental health

  • In an emergency, call 999 or visit your nearest A&E facility if you’re able to

Myth busting with King's Counselling

King's Counselling & Mental Health Support Service (CMHSS) is probably the first service you think of when asked about support services for mental health at King's. But people often have misconceptions about it.

Building connections

Living Well Together: Tips for managing shared living

I'm Anushri and I recently graduated from MSc Organisational Psychiatry and Psychology. As someone who lived in King's Residences, I know firsthand how exciting – and sometimes challenging – shared living can be!

The key to a great experience is finding a balance between study, socialising, and respecting each other's space. Sharing a space with others is a great way to build friendships and form memories that will last well beyond graduation. Read my top tips for living well together.
