Prepare for your studies
Starting or returning to university is an exciting milestone in your academic journey. It can feel daunting, but don’t worry! King’s offers plenty of support to help you settle into student life.
Your study essentials
Follow the steps in Accessing your IT account & connecting to the King’s Wi-Fi network to get set up ready to study.
Then find out about the software and systems you’ll use in your studies on Student Services Online (SSO). Whilst you’re on SSO, check out our article What equipment do I need for my studies?, which outlines essential equipment, financial support options and guidance for disabled students on accessing specialised equipment.
Build your skills for success
Once your IT account is set up, enrol in two key courses to help you prepare for university: the Essential Digital Skills Programme introduces key learning platforms like KEATS and Microsoft 365, while Academic Skills for Learning helps you to build the study skills you’ll need to succeed at King’s.
